Today we began be filming possible establishing shots. It is important that we shot this in weather that is going to be consistant throughout all of the filming sessions- otherwise it would not look un proffessional, and confuse the audience that the film happens at different times... unless this is on purpose. While filming the establishing shots, we decided to use this time to find suitable places to shoot for the trailer, poster and magazine.
The film is based in a woods, which is why we made sure the establishing shot was in a wooded/earthy area. We decided to film our shots at the actual Queensdown Warren, it offered high land that can see far distances. We thought this would portray how abandoned the area is which would make it harder for the three girls to find help. However in the end came to the decision to use a panning camera movement of looking up a gloomy, hilly field. The lighting and weather conditions here sets the mood that something bad is going to happen at those woods.
